TURBO TASKFORCE
ROLE
GAME DESIGNER
DESCRIPTION
Get your friends together, it is time to show your cooperation skills in constructing and controlling an electric remote race car. Time is of the essence when getting your car ready: you only have 90 seconds to build it and then get the best time on the track by piloting it from the control room.

Narrative design
My personal research question for this project was "How can narrative design enhance player experience in a multiplayer game focused on short gameplay?"
The way I answered my research question was by a lot of testing. Through testing I realized that the player is not willing to read text, since they're focuses on wanting to have fun.
I solved this by creating storyboards for implementation of comics at the start of the game. The way I storyboarded them was by creating a backstory and creating characters; doing this was both useful for me to make a cohesive comic, but also for the artist to get a better feel of what they're going to draw.
Teamwork
This project taught me a lot about teamwork and communication. I had to work on this game with the same group (7 members) for 4months, which was not always easy. The best method for us to keep communicating properly was to abide by using Scrum strictly (including retrospectives, daily-standups and sprint reviews).
Awards
At the end of this project we had a student festival where we, among other students, showcased our game. There were 4 judges walking around (game company employees) who were deciding on what team would win certain awards. Our team ended up winning the "Most innovative project award", "The most captivating gameplay award" and the "Best overall game award".
